If you are like me then you love taking your family on enriching activities, ones that provide entertainment but also teaching something in the process. The alternative is to let the kids stay inside on the computer or glued to the tv playing video games. In my opinion it is essential for them to get out and experience wonderful things and see incredible animals with their own eyes. There is nothing that can make me smile like seeing a small child’s eyes wide with wonder as they watch a dolphin or a sea turtle through the glass, only inches away from their nose. Plus if you have an inquisitive child who is always asking you questions you don’t have the answer to then this is a must as the staff are all very well informed and will answer any question your kids can think of.
We usually pick places like the Vancouver zoo, the Vancouver Aquarium or the Space and Science centre. The only problem with these activities is that they often carry a hefty price tag, when you add up buying tickets for 4 plus lunch (don’t get me started on the price of gas!) it can put quite a dent in your wallet.
One way that we try to cut down on these costs is to watch out for specials or promotions. Usually you can find something when there is a new exhibit that has just opened or when it is in the middle of the “slow season” for the attraction. We also keep our eyes out for coupons in the local paper or from groups like Vancouver Attractions that sell combined passes to all the interesting things in town.
We found a Vancouver Aquarium coupon which will save you $1 on every ticket that can be printed out and is valid until December 31, 2013. It of course cannot be combined with any other offer but one single coupon can be used for up to 5 people saving you a total of $5. You can download this coupon here or click the image below, save it and then print it out. Make sure to bring it with you because it is only good at the front door and cannot be used if you are buying tickets online.
It may not seem like a lot of savings but if you are planning a trip to the Vancouver Aquarium and there aren’t any specials running then why not just print it out and bring the coupon along. Another place to get an Aquarium coupon is the Vancouver City Passport website which is citypassports.com. They have tons of great coupons for more than 50 destinations in the city and can save you hundreds of dollars if you plan on making lots of trips.
